📲 How to Install TillTidy on Your Android Phone

Follow these simple steps to get started. The whole process takes less than 3 minutes.

1. Download the APK

Open your phone's browser and go to:

Tap the green "Download TillTidy for Android" button. The APK file will download to your phone.

2. Allow Installation from Unknown Sources (Play Protect)

When you try to install the downloaded APK, your phone may show a warning that the app is "Blocked by Play Protect" or that installation from unknown sources is disabled.

Why does this happen?
Google Play Protect only trusts apps downloaded directly from the Google Play Store. Because TillTidy is not yet on the Play Store (it's distributed directly from our website for early access), your phone treats it as an "unknown" app. This is a standard security precaution, not a sign that the app is harmful.
✅ TillTidy is completely safe.
It only reads payment‑related SMS messages to build your income statement. No personal data is ever collected or shared. The app is built and signed by us, and you're downloading it directly from our official website.

To proceed, you need to temporarily allow installations from your browser or file manager:

  1. When the warning appears, tap "Settings" or "More details".
  2. Enable the toggle for "Allow from this source" (for Chrome, Files, or whatever app you used to download).
  3. Go back and tap the APK file again. You should now be able to install it.

If you still can't install, you can temporarily turn off Play Protect scanning in the Google Play Store app (menu → Play Protect → gear icon → disable "Scan apps with Play Protect"). Remember to turn it back on after installation.

3. Install & Open TillTidy

  1. Once the installation begins, tap "Install".
  2. After installation, open the app by tapping "Open" or the TillTidy icon on your home screen.

4. Grant SMS Permission

When you first open TillTidy, it will ask for permission to read your SMS messages. This is essential – the app cannot function without it.

🔒 We only read payment‑related SMS.
TillTidy scans incoming messages for keywords like "Confirmed.", "received", "sent to", and "paid to". Personal messages, OTPs, and conversations are completely ignored and never stored.

Tap "Allow" when the permission pop‑up appears. You're now ready to register your business and start tracking payments automatically!

5. (Optional) Turn Play Protect Back On

If you disabled Play Protect scanning earlier, we recommend re‑enabling it for general device security. Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon → Play Protect → gear icon → turn "Scan apps with Play Protect" back on.
